Cracovia Auschwitz Kromeritz Bratislava
(22-25 April 2006)
The journey starts in Milan, with a low cost flight purchased on www.volagrats.it, destination Bratislava where we arrive late evening and we rent a car. The morning after we pass through Slovakia to Poland, destination Krakow. We spent the afternoon wondering around the historical centre of Krakow and in the evening we eat in a typical day in the Jews Ghetto.
The following morning we visit the Wawel and the rest of the city, while in the afternoon with our car we leave from Krakow and go to visit the wonderful salt mines of Wieliczka and the little industrial town of Nowa Huta, mastodontic monument of Socialist architecture.
The morning after we left Krakow direction Auschwitz (Oswiecim) to visit the famous concentration camp. A stage unbelievable if you pass close Krakow. We enter in the Czech Republic and, skipping Olomouc for reasons of time, we reached Kromeriz (Kromerí?) a small renaissance and baroque jewel with a castle, UNESCO heritage, which deserves a visit.
We slept in Kromeriz and next morning we left in direction to Slovakia to reach Bratislava where, after some time to visit the city, we took our plane to Milan.
